"American Royalty"

I found this nightclub sign by walking from my motel to a national student newspaper conference located several blocks away. On the last day of the gathering, the morning light was just right. I couldn't do anything about the power wires, but I did have control over when I shot the image and therefore the direction of the shadows. My choice gives the bulbs dimension and matches the power line shadows with the Cadillac-style diagonal lines. While I was in town, the nightclub was under construction and not open, so a night shot was not possible. Shot with a Nikon D5000 and a Sigma 18-50mm macro zoom lens, hand held.
